A LOVE STORY

Olivier Roten, the third generation to manage his family's vineyard land and winery, located in the Valais, Switzerland's largest grape growing region, in the heart of the Alps, met Laine Boswell, a Seattle, WA native, during their wine studies through the O.I.V. (Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin) Masters of Wine Science & Management. It was love at first sight, or rather, first discussion and after finishing their studies and spending time between the U.S. and Switzerland, they settled amongst the vines in the Valais. 
Laine owned and managed her importing company for several before, which focused on small, family owned wineries across the world, particularly in Europe. Not long after the two were married, they began to dream up ways to work together, while still focusing on their respective businesses. They decided to create a wine and label that honored both their love story, as well as the roots and heart of Swiss wine from the Alps. And with that, Avalanche (alongside their first born child, West) was born.
